[Introduction of Department]

The basic goal of Sino-Korean study is to understand Korean classics in Chinese, a branch of Korean literature. The major provides an intensive and focused Chinese reading comprehension program for freshman and sophomore students because the ability to read and comprehend Chinese is essential to the study of Korean classics in Chinese. Next, in order to improve the students’ general understanding, it provides a step-by-step study course on history, theory, authors, and literary branches of Korean classics in Chinese. Also, the major especially encourages and teaches the students to have more interest in Korean classics in Chinese of Andong area where ANU is located.
