Metallurgical Engineering is the study of a wide scope of fundamental and applied knowledge from the development and production to the physical properties, processing procedure and application characteristics of super functional and structural metal material. Metallurgical Engineering provides infra-technology to almost all of the fields of industry related to engineering such as energy, environment, machinery, electronics, information communication, and chemical industry as well as iron and steel industries. Therefore, there are three areas of education and research: the production of high quality metal materials needs research on and education in processing materials, alteration, melting and casting of materials, CAD, and computer simulation; the revelation of optimal characteristics needs research on and education in the identification of the mechanism of physical properties, and the control of microstructures; and processing the target materials in a highly efficient way needs research on and education on processing.
